Farmer’s Markets this summer
Come visit North Shore Brewing Supply at the Deerfield Farmer’s Market this summer! Starting June 14th, on every second and fourth saturday (that’s every other saturday) we’ll be there giving a home brew demonstration and talking home brew! North Shore Brewing Supply will only make one appearance at the Northbrook Farmer’s Market on Wednesday July 2, from 7am-1pm. Come see what we’re brewing up!
The Shed is an ultra cool musicians club. And lucky for us, it’s right next door! Before heading over there this Saturday night to be entertained by some comedy and tunes, stop by NSBS for a little pre-partying before hand! You can grab a couple samples of our Robust Porter, Traitor English Pale Ale, or Milk and Honey Kolsch to start your night with some quality home brew!
Hie-Brue Tap Towers
These beautifully crafted tap towers are constructed from upcycled and reclaimed materials. A partnership formed when a pipe organ builder, Ben Hiett, and a home brewer/ draught system designer, Matt Brueggeman, came together and fused their passions with their artisan skills. The unique nature of each piece tells its own story of a previous life with a rich history. Just as their beauty is breathtaking, the places and stories of where the materials came from are just as enthrolling. These will make an exceptional center piece to any bar or kegorator system. These remarkable craftsmen can also customize tap handles and towers to fit any location. We have a few of these amazing pieces on display for sale but will also be happy to put you in contact with the artists for custom handmade pieces. Why shouldn’t your tap tower be as remarkable as your hand crafted beer?

Fermenter’s Local #35
Home Brew Club Meeting, this Thursday May 1st!
All Welcome!!! Our Home Brew Club, Fermenter’s Local #35, is your go to monthly event to learn about, talk about, and sample great beer.
Last month we brewed a batch and pitched three different yeast strains. It will be fun to sample the final product!
This Thursday we will talk about bottling and sanitation, but most of our time will be to mingle with other local brewers and get feedback on what you are brewing.

Celebrate National Homebrew Day
In 1988, May 7 was announced before Congress as National Homebrew Day. The American Homebrewers Association (AHA) created AHA Big Brew as an annual event to celebrate National Homebrew Day around the world. AHA Big Brew is held each year on the first Saturday in May.
North Shore Brewing Supply is hosting your local Big Brew event, so invite your friends and family, gather around the brew kettle and join in the global celebration of the greatest hobby there is —homebrewing!
2014 Official Recipes
In anticipation of the 2014 National Homebrew Competition, the 2014 Big Brew Recipes are all gold medal winners from last year’s competition in BJCP categories 10- Pale Ale, 13- Stout, and 4- Dark Lager.
Heath and Eileen Haynes won category 10 in last year’s National Homebrew Competition for their Regal Pale Ale, a beer that Heath was inspired to brew while stopping in the Naples Restaurant to order a Drifter Pale Ale from Widmer Brothers on a trip to Disney World several years ago.
Pat Craddock grew his own Chinook and East Kent Goldings hops to brew this recipe for an Imperial Stout. Pat notes that any Phish fans out there will know where the inspiration for the name of the beer comes from!
Jeffrey Lewis took home the gold medal in the 2013 National Homebrew Competition for this stellar recipe for Schwarzbier, which is a German dark lager. Schwarzbier has never made an appearance as a recipe for Big Brew in the past, and the AHA is proud to highlight this exciting style to homebrewers around the world!
